Once the installation is complete, three icons will be created on your desktop, and FileZilla should start running. If it doesn’t start automatically, please click on one of the icons on your desktop to launch it.

To start using FileZilla, please run “Start FileZilla Server” and then “Administer FileZilla”.
FileZilla FTP Connect to Server

This is the FileZilla interface that appears after the installation is complete. Please click on “Connect to Server”.

This is a basic explanation, so please don’t change the Host and Port settings.
If you specified a password during installation, enter it and check “Save the password”.
If you did not specify a password, leave it blank.
Check “Automatically connect to this server at startup” to automatically connect to the server when starting up.
Click “OK” to connect.

If you see this screen, it means that the password was entered incorrectly. Please double-check and make sure you have entered the correct password.
Auto-start

Once connected, please click on the “Window” menu at the top and check all the options.
“Start minimized” starts FileZilla minimized when it is launched.
“Enable tray icon” shows an icon in the system tray. If unchecked, FileZilla will run but no icon will be displayed.
“Minimize to tray” minimizes FileZilla to the system tray.
FileZilla FTP Server Configuration

Click on “Server” and then click “Configure” to access the server settings.
Enter the FileZilla FTP server address.

In the “Address” field, enter the IP address of the PC where the FileZilla server is installed.
Confirm your IP address and enter it in the “Address” field.
The default port for FTP is 21, so leave the “Port” field as is.
FTP Server User Configuration

This is the setting for registering users.
Click on “Users” in the middle of the left-hand menu.
In the warning message (which advises caution when setting paths), check “Don’t show this message again” and click OK.

Click “Add” to add a new user, and specify the password to be used when logging in.
The user added here will be the ID and password for the user who accesses the FTP server from the FTP client.
To create an account that anyone can access without a password,

To create a user account that allows anyone to access without a password, you can create a new user (usually called “guest”) and then change the menu to “Do not require authentication”.
FTP Path Configuration

Let’s set up the path to use on the FTP server.
Click “Add” and the menus for “Virtual path” and “Native path” will be activated.
For the “Virtual path”, enter “/” (a forward slash).
Important
“/” is a forward slash located next to the right shift key, not the “” (backslash) located above the Enter key.
For the “Native path”, enter the folder path to use on the FTP server and click “OK” at the bottom.
If you’ve completed the steps above, the configuration of the FTP Server program is now finished. In the next post, we will cover how to add a Windows Firewall exception.
This post was written with sufficient testing at the time of creation, but please note that the content may vary depending on the policy of the developer.
